As an entrepreneur like Samuel Adams was and an American Citizen like George Hewes, both part of the Sons of Liberty and the Boston Tea Party, I too am fed up with taxes and the lack of Liberty.  I will be taking a stand for the American People and our American Liberty following the US Constitution and the Declaration of Independence under its original meaning.  The Declaration states “We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness. – That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed, – That whenever any Form of Government, becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness.”  This statement, the foundation of my platform, illustrates the intent of our founders in that we are endowed by our Creator and not by the Government. This is very important and you can see without any doubt that our current elected officials have forgotten our founding principles as they take away our liberties, that our government is legislating against our consent, and that they are destructive. It’s time, America, to vote out the destructiveness that negates the original meaning of our founding documents, vote in someone who governs with your consent, and who protects your inalienable Rights.  “No free government, or the blessings of liberty, can be preserved to any people but by a firm adherence to justice, moderation, temperance, frugality, and virtue; and by a frequent recurrence to fundamental principles” - Patrick Henry

     I knew it was time for me to do something and run for Elected Office when I heard certain elected officials stating that they do not care for, nor use the written US Constitution. As President Thomas Jefferson said “Our peculiar security is in the possession of a written Constitution. Let us not make it a blank paper by construction.” Additionally, what President Ronald Reagan and I believe is a step towards socialism, was the passing of the health care bill, commonly referred to as ObamaCare. This government encroachment, a mandate that forces American Citizens to purchase government approved health insurance or be fined, is just the beginning as we lose our constitutional freedoms.

     Other concerns include the stimulus programs, which I believe were a total failure. The massive government bailouts including the take over of General Motors, (Government Motors) are eroding Capitalism.  Our representatives cannot even take the time to read the bill they are voting on, telling the American people they have to pass it first to find out what’s in it.

     We the people have to put a stop to this government takeover.  Raising taxes and continuous spending don’t fix the problem, it makes it worse.  What is in the future for America?  If we stay on this same path of failure, continuing with excessive taxation and government spending, enlarging the government and entitlement programs, it will be the end of free enterprise, and freedom as we know it until “...one day we will spend our sunset years telling our children and our children's children what it was once like in the United States where men were free.” - President Ronald Reagan
